Plan for changes after launch
Themes, plugins and server components continue to change. Maintenance begins with a review of the existing system and an agreement on the work to be monitored regularly.
Possible scope
- Backups and compatibility review before updates
- Suitable theme, plugin and system updates
- Checks of login, form and order journeys
- Access, permissions and basic security settings
- A record of completed work and identified issues
Make backups usable
Database records and uploaded files need to be protected together. Location, frequency and restoration responsibilities are agreed. A restore exercise can be scoped separately.
Handle incidents clearly
Response hours, communication channels and included working time are stated in the maintenance agreement. Additional features, redesigns and major clean-up work are quoted separately.
Keep expectations realistic
No security service prevents every possible attack. The aim is to reduce exposure and improve readiness to respond.
