WooCommerce

Checking your WooCommerce order workflow

Follow the customer journey from cart to order management to locate store problems.

A working product page does not prove that a customer can complete an order. Check the full journey and understand your payment provider's test options before placing trial orders.

Product and cart

Try product types, variations, stock settings, quantities and any coupons you use. Compare product names, prices and quantities between the product page and cart.

Delivery and payment

Check your address types, shipping zones and payment methods separately. Empty required fields should produce useful feedback. Review provider redirects and the return to your store.

Store-side order processing

  • Is the order visible to staff?
  • Does its status match the payment result?
  • Has stock changed as expected?
  • Have relevant notifications arrived?
  • Has any connected system received the record?

Include failed transactions

Review cancellation and connection-loss cases, as well as successful payments. Check that retrying does not incorrectly duplicate the order or payment.

Record the result

Note the failing step, device and time. Avoid including personal or card data in screenshots. Clear records help your developer or provider investigate.
